The Illusion of a Hidden Hitler: Jordan Peterson’s False Perspective.
In an interview conducted by Piers Morgan with Jordan Peterson, he claimed that every one of us has a repressed Hitler within him, and the evidence is that Nazism spread rapidly in Germany.
Jordan Peterson denied or forgot the general atmosphere prevailing in Germany at the time and the propaganda campaigns to support Nazism, which made it acceptable within German society.
In fact, the most that democracy and current systems of government can provide is a space that allows (to everyone) to exercise his right to express his opinion. This system, which is based on the principle of the people’s authority to choose their ruler, makes the general political atmosphere a space for speeches and debates, which depend greatly on mastering the methods of discourse, persuasion, and eloquence more than facts and truth.
The main problem here lies in the extent of the general class’s awareness of the secrets of politics. This class does not necessarily have the competence to distinguish between right and wrong when it comes to higher policies. A baker does not know anything about foreign affairs, nor does a doctor who has not studied economics, and so on.
On the other hand, the media plays a direct role in influencing the culture and attitudes of the people. If the strongest media in a country is liberal, you will find that the majority of the people believe in liberalism, and if it is a Nazi, you will find that the people believe in Nazism. History has proven this repeatedly. For example, France handed over its revolution to Napoleon, who was supported by major propaganda campaigns, as well as Hitler in Germany and Mussolini in Italy.
People’s ideas, beliefs, and political and intellectual orientations are not the result of their inner thoughts, but rather the product of what they consume as media material that they circulate.
Unfortunately, the prevailing here is for those who possess sufficient eloquence and articulation, and not necessarily for those who possess the truth.
